Suzan Hvizdash, CPC, CPC-PC
- Suzan's Bio:
- With over 15 years of health care experience, I am the Senior Auditor at the CRN institute auditing offices around the country and providing education and feedback based on those audits. I've been a guest lecturer at the University of Pittsburgh speaking to undergraduate HIM students on E/M documentation and the use of physician extenders. I also have student interns with me during the summer months. My passion for teaching began when I accepted the position as the Medical Billing/Health Claims Examining instructor at an adult vocational school. I've taught terminology, anatomy, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9 coding, and forms completion. I've been a billing coordinator, Medicare insurance supervisor for two national pharmacies and the Senior Reimbursement Supervisor for a national home infusion company. I am also the Physician Education Specialist for the Department of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. I teach over 180 surgeons, physician extenders, and staff on compliance issues, HIPAA, EMTALA, and most importantly, proper documentation of E/M services. My teaching environments include grand rounds lectures, small round table discussion groups, one-on-one training, clinic shadowing, and teleconference sessions.
